White

While the yellow flowers came by themselves, in the middle of dry branches and dead grass, the white flowers came with the green.

Some trees, seen from a distance, are completely white. I couldn't take a picture of them because I was in the bus, but I saw many by the river. Maybe some other day I'll be able to take a picture?

Universitätsklinikum

I went to the University Hospital to schedule an appointment and took these pictures because the garden is absolutely beautiful.

Waldpark in spring

Getting to Waldpark. We walked there, but cars and busses pass here as well.

This park is relatevily close to our house. If I was to walk there by myself, it would take me roughly 15 minutes to get there. With the dogs, it varies. Nina likes to sniff every leaf, rock or... any and everything really (hehe), so it takes longer depending on whether I rush her or not.

A few meters later, you can choose to walk on the right or the left side of this street. Since the left side is usually quieter, we went there.

I love this yellow ground flower.

The park is full of paths you can walk on. Some are narrower and surrounded by really tall trees. Others are wider and more open, with grass and benches to sit on. There are usually moms or dads with baby strollers reading books or doing things on their phones and tablets sitting on these benches.

I made this video with my iPhone (hence the not so good quality) so you can see and, specially, hear the park. If you get motion sickness with the movement of the video, just listen to the birds, it's worth it!

Didn't I say there were even busses? We ran into this one when we were going back home.

To see Waldpark in the winter, look here: on a sunny day and with snow on the ground.

Turning green

Hermann-Seidl-Park turning green.

Hermann-Seidl-Park

Street close to our house.

Nina, Cookie and the beautiful green.

R always used to tell me the spring here is amazing. I couldn't quite picture it. If you know me, you also know I don't use photoshop (I don't even have it!) and these pictures are taken with my iPhone while I walk the dogs. The color is just like this, very beautiful!

Here on our street some trees are only now beginning to turn green. When they are all full of leaves I'll take a picture of the view from our balcony.

The first pictures were taken at Hermann-Seidl-Park and the last two on streets close to our house.

If you want to see what the park looked like during winter, take a look here: naked branchesground covered with snow and snowing.

How sweet!

I had to rush to take this picture so that I didn't lose the moment and didn't risk having somebody's face in it (and being unable to publish!). Lucky I had the phone in my hand!

Is there anything cuter than carrying your best friend on the back of your bike?

First big holiday of the year

People really changed this Friday. I hear children playing outside all day long, people passing by speaking loudly and laughing, many smiling at each other while they walk. Until now, everything was more quiet and people more serious.

I saw many people at the park, playing football (soccer), playing ping pong, seating on benches enjoying the sun, some even having picnics.

It's the first big holiday of the year and it coincides with the beginning of spring. The little grocery store in the picture announces it will be closed until May and we also know somebody else who took vacations on this period. Maybe this is common here.

Do you know about other people taking vacations at this time of the year?

Easter presents

These are the decorated cooked eggs I mentioned in my other post about Easter. I saw many people buying them and R ate one at his work.

They are set up like this at the grocery store. Close to the milk and the "regular" eggs.

Do you remember I said there are no big chocolate eggs with things inside? So we bought these Milka chocolate rabbits. The white chocolate is R's and the package is mine. This package was actually one of the biggest things they had. If packages were bigger than that, they were usually a stuffed toy with an egg or small rabbit.

The second picture shows what is inside the package: two rabbits and six little eggs. The eggs have a hollow and a filled side.

I hope everybody is enjoying their chocolate!

Happy Easter!

Frohe Ostern!

Neighbor's garden decorated for Easter.

Cookie and the Easter tree.

Many houses are decorated like this for Easter. Some trees are made of dry branches, like our mother made them when we were children.

The stores are decorated and various "regular" things are Easter themed, from mugs to masking tape and other stationery items. There are small booths in the middle of the stores where they put these objects and announce them as Easter gift suggestions.

In Brazil, we have big chocolate eggs that come with other things inside (usually candy but could be a small toy). Here, there are no big eggs. Only chocolate rabbits, smaller eggs, baskets and even cooked eggs decorated with paint. It's very different! I must confess it took me a while to realize it was Easter without the eggs everywhere in the supermarket. On the other hand, Easter is everywhere here and it's really beautiful.

Also, it is a holiday from Friday until Monday. Yay!

What did you think of my little model? Super cute close to the eggs, isn't she?

How is Easter celebrated where you live? Huge chocolate eggs at the grocery store or all around?

Happy Easter!

I found it!

I found the plate with the toll truck! I must have passed it hundreds of times, since it's really close to our home. I think it's cute.

In this post are the other ones, without the toll truck.
